I never got to meet Evel, but he was a childhood hero of mine, and the main reason I
tore up many a bicycle, and the whipping that followed. Evel was American Icon, and
now an American Legend. Rest In Peace Evel RIDE ON

Evel was my chilhood hero when I was a kid. Even through his rough times, he always told kids stay away from narcotics. He gave his word, and nothing, not even the odds of death would make him backdown! There are no celebrities or sports figures that measure up to Evel. I broke my neck at age 9, and was known as \'Evel Knievel\' in the hospital!! I had \'Evel Knievel\' written across the forhead of my body cast! I just wish I wrote Evel from the hospital asking him to come visit me, I bet he would have! Funny, at 41 yrs old today, he is the only \'celebrity\' I ever really wanted to meet!
